About the Role

Wellways Australia is seeking a Recovery Worker to join their Community Living Support (CLS) program in Coniston, NSW. This NSW Government-funded initiative offers personalised psychosocial support to individuals aged 16 and above who face severe mental health challenges. The role involves guiding participants in identifying strengths, setting goals, and receiving practical help to boost confidence, foster independence, and reconnect with their communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist participants in shaping and pursuing their personal recovery objectives.
  • Deliver hands-on, strength-focused support to encourage wellness and self-sufficiency.
  • Promote connections with family, community members, and natural support systems.
  • Prepare recovery plans, assessments, detailed notes, and other documentation.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and external partners to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Travel regionally as needed to meet participant requirements.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is devoted to aiding those experiencing mental health difficulties using person-centered, recovery-driven approaches. They should possess the ability to tailor support to individual needs, facilitate empowering programs, and encourage hope and autonomy. Collaboration with participants, their families, communities, and associated services is essential.

Mandatory qualifications and requirements include:

  • Completion or active enrollment in Certificate IV in Mental Health, Peer Work, or Community Services.
  • 100 points of identification and proof of Australian work eligibility.
  • Valid Driver's Licence.
  • National Police Check and, if applicable, International Police Check.
  • Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • Completion of NDIS Workers Orientation Modules (free online course).
