Role Overview
The Receiving Supervisor will manage and oversee daily operations within the receiving area, warehouse, and inventory storage to ensure proper handling and documentation of all incoming goods. The role involves leading the receiving team, maintaining inventory accuracy, coordinating with multiple departments, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and company standards.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate daily activities in receiving, warehouse, and inventory areas, ensuring smooth operational flow.
- Train, schedule, and evaluate receiving and warehouse staff to uphold company performance standards.
- Manage receipt, inspection, storage, and distribution of goods, verifying consistency with purchase orders, invoices, and delivery documents.
- Inspect incoming shipments for quantity and quality, promptly reporting discrepancies or damages to Purchasing.
- Ensure accurate and timely entry of received goods into inventory management systems and proper completion of receiving documentation.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels to support hotel operations and conduct regular audits to ensure data accuracy.
- Coordinate delivery and inventory needs with Purchasing, Accounting, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Kitchen, Engineering, Maintenance, and other departments.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and security in receiving docks, warehouse, and storage spaces.
- Implement correct storage techniques, including FIFO/FEFO rotation and proper labeling, to reduce spoilage and damage.
- Monitor expiration dates and manage stock rotation for perishables.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and suggest corrective measures.
- Prepare comprehensive reports concerning receiving, inventory, and operations for management review.
- Ensure adherence to food safety, occupational health and safety regulations, company policies, and audit standards.
- Report maintenance needs of warehouse equipment and support inventory audits.
- Identify areas for improving receiving and inventory control efficiency.
- Perform additional duties as required by management consistent with the position.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related fields preferred.
- At least three years of experience in receiving, inventory control, warehouse operations, or purchasing within hospitality or similar sectors.
- Minimum one year in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Proficient with Google Sheets and Google Workspace applications.
- Deep understanding of inventory and warehouse procedures along with hotel procurement processes.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities complemented by excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines while demonstrating integrity and professionalism.
- Fluency in English at an advanced level; Spanish language skills are advantageous.
