Job description

Overview

As a Receiver/Stocker at Lowe's, you play a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized store environment, ensuring shelves and stock areas are well-prepared for customer visits. Your duties include receiving incoming freight, accurately stocking shelves and top stock, and organizing merchandise. This position involves physical, fast-paced work requiring careful lifting and safety awareness. Shifts vary and may be mornings, afternoons, evenings, or overnight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting and supporting customers during their projects.
  • Unload freight deliveries, stock merchandise on shelves, manage backstock areas, and set up pallets.
  • Support operational tasks such as verifying delivery accuracy, preparing docks, and safely operating equipment like pallet jacks and forklifts.
  • Maintain a safe, tidy work zone following safety procedures for hazardous materials and equipment use.
  • Utilize store tools including scanners, Zebra phones, and balers as necessary.
  • Collaborate effectively as a team member to complete additional assigned duties.
  • For Pro Fulfillment Stores: pick and stage Flatbed Delivery orders using Orders App, load orders with attention to safety and quality, manage order rotation by delivery dates, resolve customer order issues proactively, and uphold Delivery Readiness standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum education: High school diploma or GED or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Preferred: At least 3 months operating forklifts or similar powered equipment.
  • Preferred: Minimum 6 months of warehouse experience involving inventory management and stocking.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Work may take place indoors and outdoors under varying weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and dampness. Exposure to noise and mechanical vibrations is expected. Safe manual lifting is required; individual lifts should not exceed 75 pounds, with team lifts used as needed. Proper training is provided for powered equipment use.
