Overview
The Quality Improvement Advisor is a key role supporting various state and federal grant initiatives and Health Information Exchange (HIE) programs at Contexture. This position collaborates with community partners to meet grant objectives, participant outcomes, and organizational goals. It requires expertise in quality improvement methodologies and fosters teamwork within multiple internal departments.
Based in Phoenix, AZ; Denver, CO; or Grand Junction, CO, this role demands local residence. Employees may benefit from a flexible local remote work arrangement.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide in-person and virtual consulting to participants, hospitals, and long-term care facilities for quality improvement initiatives.
- Organize, coordinate, and lead quality improvement meetings applying techniques like process mapping, fishbone diagrams, and PDSA cycles.
- Manage grant deliverables and timelines for assigned participants.
- Act as liaison for EHR vendors, aiding with communication, mapping, workflow, and support.
- Assist participants with EHR processes including selection, adoption, migration, data validation, and workflow integration related to clinical quality measures and reporting.
- Facilitate adoption of alternative visit methods such as telehealth and patient portal communication.
- Support use of Health Information Exchange tools by participants.
- Analyze EHR data quality and provide targeted support to ensure continuous improvement and data integrity.
- Provide guidance on documentation, billing resources, workflow redesign, and effective technology use.
- Serve in roles such as product owner or scrum master when needed.
- Advise participants on budgeting strategies for value-based contracts.
- Identify potential business growth opportunities and maintain positive participant relationships.
- Stay current with healthcare industry trends, legislation, value-based payment models, and evolving reporting requirements.
- Engage actively in learning collaboratives and grant-related webinars.
- Collaborate with community partners and internal Contexture operations and technical teams to support participant success and meet data quality standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum 5 years healthcare experience in clinical, administrative, or technology roles; at least 2 years specializing in quality improvement methods preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business administration, or related field; equivalent work experience considered.
- Proven experience interfacing with clinicians and hospitals concerning quality improvement and EHR workflows.
- Exceptional customer service, communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.
- In-depth understanding of EHR systems, vendor coordination, and quality reporting such as MIPS and clinical quality measures (CQM).
- Familiarity with quality improvement tools and methodologies, including process mapping and PDSA cycles.
- Experience with project management, agile methodologies, and scrum roles is a plus.
- Knowledgeable about value-based payment models, Accountable Care Organizations, NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home, and related quality programs.
- Proficiency in MS Office, intermediate Excel skills; Salesforce experience valued.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, adaptability, and ability to independently manage tasks with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally or occasionally out-of-state.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Work primarily in a moderate noise office or virtual setting, with some after-hours availability needed.
- Occasional travel to client sites, conferences, or events may be required.
- Frequent use of computer equipment and office materials, ability to remain seated for roughly half the work time.
- Handling of materials up to 10 lbs regularly, with occasional heavier lifting up to 30 lbs.
