Role Overview
The Production Planner will be integral to enhancing manufacturing efficiency and ensuring on-time delivery of quality products. Key duties include crafting and managing production schedules that synchronize with customer demands while maximizing labor and machine usage, determining manufacturing routes and times for new parts based on engineering drawings, and establishing rigorous planning systems to support effective scheduling.
Responsibilities
- Create and sustain production schedules balancing customer requirements with efficient resource utilization.
- Determine stepwise manufacturing procedures and estimate production durations for products from engineering specifications.
- Develop robust planning workflows to maintain data accuracy and scheduling effectiveness.
- Assess machine capacities and labor resources to identify and resolve any bottlenecks.
- Track production metrics to facilitate data-driven decisions.
- Collaborate with procurement and inventory teams to ensure material availability and avoid delays.
- Partner with production, engineering, and quality assurance teams to solve challenges and improve processes.
- Keep detailed records of schedules, resource deployment, and inventory.
- Drive improvements in planning, scheduling, and operational effectiveness through continuous improvement initiatives.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated experience as a Production Planner within manufacturing, engineering, or machine shop industries.
- Thorough knowledge of diverse manufacturing techniques.
- Strong analytical capabilities and attention to detail, with effective problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills to foster collaboration across different teams.
- Ability to manage priorities and perform effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and production scheduling software.
- A forward-thinking approach focused on continuous improvement and driving positive change.
- Professional certifications in planning, scheduling, or inventory management are beneficial.
