Overview

Paras Engineering is looking for a proficient Fabrication Engineer to manage and oversee sheet metal fabrication operations. The role centers on guaranteeing production quality, streamlining manufacturing workflows, and meeting production goals efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise daily sheet metal fabrication and related production activities.
  • Interpret and analyze engineering and fabrication drawings accurately.
  • Plan and control fabrication tasks to adhere to production timelines.
  • Collaborate across departments including Production, Quality Assurance, Planning, and Purchasing.
  • Optimize utilization of manpower, machinery, and materials for maximum efficiency.
  • Oversee various operations such as welding, cutting, bending, grinding, and assembly processes.
  • Drive initiatives aimed at increasing productivity and lowering manufacturing expenses.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues relating to fabrication processes.
  • Ensure all outputs comply with defined quality standards and client requirements.
  • Maintain thorough production documentation and reporting.
  • Promote and implement 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and safety protocols.
  • Provide training and monitor operator performance to uphold quality standards.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules in liaison with maintenance teams.

Key Skills and Technical Expertise

  • In-depth understanding of sheet metal fabrication techniques and processes.
  • Proficient in reading engineering drawings and applying GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
  • Expertise in welding methods: MIG, TIG, and Arc welding.
  • Skillful in laser cutting and CNC bending (press brake) operations.
  • Knowledge of turret punching, fabrication assembly, grinding, and finishing processes.
  • Ability to identify materials such as MS, SS, and aluminum.
  • Familiar with using precise measuring tools: vernier calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
  • Competent in root cause analysis and production planning methodologies.
  • Experience applying quality control and process improvement techniques.
  • Hands-on with lean manufacturing principles, 5S, and Kaizen practices.
  • Basic proficiency in AutoCAD and understanding of Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Preferred knowledge of ERP/MRP software systems.
