About the Role
This position seeks a seasoned Product Manager or Product Owner with deep expertise in the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) domain. The role involves driving the vision, strategic direction, and delivery of innovative digital products that meet business objectives and comply with industry regulations. The successful candidate will collaborate extensively with business stakeholders, technology teams, and other partners to develop customer-focused solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and convey a clear product vision, strategy, and roadmap that aligns with organizational goals.
- Collect, analyze, and prioritize business and customer needs effectively.
- Maintain ownership of the product backlog and prioritize features based on their business value.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders, technology developers, UX designers, QA, and delivery teams throughout the product lifecycle.
- Translate requirements into detailed user stories and clearly defined acceptance criteria.
- Engage actively in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Lead continuous product improvements and manage feature releases efficiently.
- Monitor key performance indicators, customer feedback, and market trends to assess product health.
- Ensure all products meet regulatory requirements, security standards, and organizational policies for BFSI.
- Manage expectations of stakeholders and communicate progress to leadership regularly.
Candidate Profile and Skills
- Strong grasp of Product Management and Product Ownership methodologies.
- Proven experience working within Agile and Scrum frameworks.
- Comprehensive knowledge of BFSI sectors such as banking, insurance, payments, lending, and wealth management.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Skilled in gathering requirements, crafting user stories, and managing product backlogs.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Experienced with product management and collaboration platforms like Jira, Confluence, and Azure DevOps.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Finance, or relevant fields.
- MBA or other advanced qualifications are advantageous.
- Certifications such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), SAFe POPM, PMI-ACP, or agile certificates are desirable.
Experience Required
- Between 5 and 15 years of professional experience, including substantial time as a Product Owner or Product Manager.
- Experience in launching and managing digital products/platforms within BFSI.
- Exposure to fintech, digital transformation, mobile banking, payments, lending services, insurance, or wealth management products is a plus.
- Experience with geographically distributed teams and large-scale enterprise product development.
