Job description
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to lead strategic sourcing and commercial negotiations within third-party logistics (3PL) warehousing and fulfillment services. This full-time contract position is based onsite in Sydney CBD with a 3-month initial tenure and possible extension or permanent placement.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end sourcing processes, including Requests for Information (RFI), Proposals (RFP), and Quotations (RFQ).
- Evaluate and score suppliers through due diligence, providing clear recommendations.
- Create sourcing project timelines and ensure milestones are met.
- Perform commercial modeling, analyze landed costs, and compare scenarios to support decisions.
- Develop business cases and guidance for senior leadership on sourcing choices.
- Lead negotiations with 3PL providers covering pricing, service agreements, and KPI frameworks.
- Craft negotiation strategies aligned to procurement goals and collaborate with legal teams to finalize contracts.
- Identify risks associated with suppliers and suggest appropriate mitigation plans.
- Coordinate supplier engagement activities such as briefings, Q&A sessions, site visits, and contract discussions.
- Work closely with Operations, Finance, and Legal teams during sourcing projects and support onboarding and mobilization of selected suppliers.
- Assist with ongoing supplier governance and performance monitoring.
- Maintain accurate records of RFx documentation, evaluations, and award decisions in compliance with procurement governance standards.
- Provide market intelligence and supplier insights to enhance category strategies.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in procurement and strategic sourcing.
- Proficiency in managing competitive tender processes.
- Strong skills in commercial analysis and contract negotiation.
- Experience in negotiating supplier contracts and service level agreements.
- Proven stakeholder management abilities across multiple departments.
- Background in logistics, warehousing, supply chain, or 3PL categories.
- Excellent written communication and presentation capabilities.
