Role overview
NZ Post is looking for a part-time Processing Officer with forklift duties at its Kaiwharawhara Road site in Wellington. The role is centered on sorting, consolidating, and sending out parcels and freight so couriers can complete deliveries across New Zealand.
This is a practical, fast-moving role where you may spend up to 6 hours of each shift operating a forklift. A strong focus on safe work practices, professionalism, and attention to detail is essential.
Schedule: Saturday to Wednesday, 3:00am to 9:00am.
Pay: $26.75 per hour, plus allowances. A night rate allowance of $3.29 per hour applies until 6:00am, and a forklift allowance is also included.
What you'll do
- Sort, consolidate, and dispatch parcels and freight from the Kaiwharawhara Road site.
- Operate a forklift for up to 6 hours in a shift.
- Work collaboratively with the wider team to keep parcels moving efficiently.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and orderly work environment.
- Support the delivery process that helps get freight to couriers on time.
What we're looking for
- Availability for early morning shifts from Saturday through Wednesday, 3:00am to 9:00am.
- Proven forklift operation experience with a careful, competent approach.
- A Forklift OSH certificate and/or an F endorsement on your driver's licence.
- At minimum, a restricted driver's licence.
- A strong commitment to safety for yourself, your teammates, and the site.
- Physical capability for demanding work, including lifting up to 25 kg.
- Good attention to detail and solid geographical awareness.
