Porter/Driver

Overview

This role involves providing essential portering services across wards, departments, and office areas as directed, contributing to patient care priorities within NHS Borders. Occasionally, driving responsibilities are required to facilitate patient discharges and urgent transport requests.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform portering duties as required in various hospital and office settings.
• Undertake driving tasks when necessary to assist with patient flow and emergency transportation.
• Work early shifts on Mondays and weekend shifts as part of scheduled duties.
• Demonstrate competence in domestic tasks with flexibility to adapt to changing needs.
• Adhere to NHS Borders Behavioural Framework and organisational values including compassion, kindness, integrity, teamwork, and excellence.

Eligibility and Legal Requirements

Candidates must have legal authorization to work in the United Kingdom as demonstrated by relevant visa or status as verified through the UK Visa and Immigration Service. Sponsorship for a Skilled Worker/Health & Care Worker Visa may be possible if eligibility criteria are met, including salary thresholds and sponsor licensing.
