PMO Capital Projects Manager

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned PMO Capital Projects Manager to oversee the pre-construction phase of a large-scale multi-year megaproject involving the construction of a Control Centre at a utility company. The project also entails integrating IT and OT systems. The role is based in Abu Dhabi and requires contract onsite commitment for at least 12 months.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the Project Management Office during the pre-construction stages, including project scoping, design, and procurement activities.
• Lead planning and scheduling efforts to ensure timely progress of the megaproject.
• Oversee budget control and risk management to maintain project financial and operational integrity.
• Coordinate document control and facilitate proactive stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate closely with a Technical Advisory firm responsible for supervising technical aspects and integrations of the project.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Proven management experience within a PMO environment focusing on capital expenditure (Capex) projects.
• Preferably experienced in sectors such as Utilities, Mining, Oil & Gas, Infrastructure, or similar capital-heavy industries.
• Possession of a PMP, PMI certification, or equivalent project management credentials is mandatory.
• Familiarity and hands-on experience with project management software tools like Microsoft Project or Primavera is highly beneficial.
