Experiencing significant growth, the company is recruiting a Plant Technician to support a major project based in Dublin.

Role Overview

The Plant Technician will be responsible for the safe and effective operation, maintenance, fault analysis, and repair of power generation equipment along with related balance-of-plant systems, ensuring compliance with all OFS health, safety, environmental, and quality protocols.

Key Duties

• Safely operating power generation machinery according to established procedures.
• Monitoring plant performance via control systems, alarm indicators, and onsite inspections.
• Managing unit start-up and shutdown processes based on power demand.
• Conducting routine operational checks on generation and auxiliary assets.
• Maintaining precise operational logs, shift handover reports, and maintenance documentation.
• Executing planned preventative maintenance on generation equipment and associated systems.
• Performing regular servicing, inspections, and condition monitoring of equipment.
• Ensuring all maintenance aligns with OEM instructions and OFS standards.
• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and operational faults using plant documents, alarms, and diagnostic tools.
• Troubleshooting equipment and supporting systems to determine failure causes.
• Carrying out corrective repairs to restore plant availability and escalating complex issues requiring specialist intervention.
• Strictly adhering to OFS health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Reporting hazards, incidents, near misses, and unsafe situations.
• Maintaining site cleanliness and housekeeping standards.
• Participating in initiatives aimed at improving plant reliability and performance.
• Engaging in operational reviews and aiding the adoption of best maintenance and operational practices.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Relevant engineering qualification such as Mechanical, Electrical, Electromechanical, Power Generation, or similar.
• Experience in operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, or commissioning power generation assets including diesel generators, gas engines, turbines, reciprocating engines, or temporary generation equipment.
• Familiarity with balance-of-plant equipment (switchgear, transformers, fuel and cooling systems, pumps, compressors, auxiliary plant).
• Competence in working with electrical and mechanical systems, and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, P&IDs, SLDs, and OEM documentation.
• Knowledge of safe working systems.
• Advantageous to have experience with control systems such as SCADA, PLCs, or plant monitoring tools.
• Ability to work both independently and within a rotating shift team in a high-paced operational setting.
• Must have full legal work authorization in Ireland.
