Job Overview
Join Tan Tock Seng Hospital as a Phlebotomist where you will be responsible for performing venepuncture to collect blood samples from adult and geriatric patients within inpatient settings at several hospital divisions, including the National Centre for Infectious Diseases and the Integrated Care Hub.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out blood collection procedures (venepuncture) to obtain specimens for laboratory analysis in inpatient adult and geriatric units.
- Participate actively in sectional initiatives aimed at reviewing and enhancing work processes aligned with organizational objectives.
- Conduct HIV screening interviews for patients as part of clinical protocols.
- Assist the Section Leader with operational and administrative tasks to support smooth departmental functioning.
Requirements and Work Conditions
- Demonstrate a strong interest in blood collection techniques.
- No prior experience is necessary as comprehensive training will be provided.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Effective communication skills are essential.
- Willingness to work two rotating shifts covering early morning and afternoon times, including weekends and public holidays. Shift schedules include 7am–4pm, 8am–5pm, and 3pm–9:30pm.
- This is a full-time role; clinical placements for venipuncture certification are not available through this position.
Additional Information
Locum phlebotomy positions requiring prior experience are open separately with a different schedule (8am to 2pm, Monday to Friday, 6 hours per day). Candidates interested in locum roles should not apply here.
