About the Role

Cosmo International Fragrances seeks a diligent and innovative Perfumer to join their Singapore team. The position involves supporting the creation, evaluation, and delivery of fragrances across several categories including Fine Fragrance, Home Care, Personal Care, and Laundry Care, serving global markets. The role collaborates extensively with teams from Evaluation, Laboratory, Regulatory, Technical, Operations, Purchasing, Production, Sales, and global fragrance units to convert customer briefs into effective and appealing fragrance products.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and refine fragrance formulations aligned with customer briefs, cost constraints, regulatory standards, and desired scent profiles.
• Address challenges in formulations related to stability, compatibility, and overall performance.
• Investigate new raw materials, market trends, and fragrance concepts to enhance innovation.
• Assess fragrance samples and benchmark products to ensure alignment with client requirements, recommending modifications where necessary.
• Maintain and leverage a comprehensive understanding of the fragrance library to guide project directions.
• Assist in customer evaluations, presentations, and technical discussions about the fragrances.
• Support laboratory operations including workflow, compounding, inventory management, consumables, and equipment upkeep.
• Organize and maintain laboratory procedures and compliance, train laboratory assistants, and ensure precision in recording dilution formulations in the management system.
• Conduct quality control olfactive assessments on incoming raw materials and finished products against standards.
• Investigate quality concerns related to fragrances and raw materials, offering technical assistance.
• Manage fragrance projects from initial customer query through completion, tracking timelines, deliverables, and updating documentation accordingly.
• Translate customer expectations into detailed project briefs and maintain clear technical and formulation records.
• Provide Singapore-based clients with updates on project progress, technical data, shipment status, and follow-up actions.
• Work closely with regional and international teams to meet client requirements and deadlines.
• Collaborate across departments including Sales, Operations, Production, Purchasing, and international fragrance teams.
• Monitor market trends and new product launches, organizing product-related meetings and analyses.
• Engage in trade shows to bring fresh ideas into fragrance development and support consumer testing and product evaluations related to candles and home care.

Candidate Profile

• At least four years of experience collaborating with international fragrance evaluation teams.
• Excellent olfactory abilities with fragrance selection expertise across multiple product areas.
• Strong organizational skills and the capacity to handle several projects concurrently.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional cooperation.
• Experience managing laboratory operations and inventory with a keen eye for precision.
• Proficient use of FORMPAK software is required.

Qualifications and Language

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a Master's degree is advantageous.
• Creative and analytical mindset in fragrance formulation.
• Capable of thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced international environment.
• Proficiency in English is essential; knowledge of French and/or Spanish is preferred.
