Role overview
This opportunity is for a Payroll Executive based in Wynyard Village, England, United Kingdom. The role sits within a collaborative, people-focused environment that values authenticity, initiative, respect for differing viewpoints, and the ability to contribute independently as well as within a team.
What you will do
You will manage a portfolio of payroll clients and take full ownership of payroll processing from start to finish. This includes handling pension setup and ongoing auto-enrolment administration linked to the payrolls you oversee. You will also keep payroll records and systems accurate by collecting, calculating, and entering data correctly.
The role requires you to calculate a range of payments, including statutory and occupational sick pay, maternity leave, and parental leave amounts.
Experience and technical knowledge
The employer is seeking someone with at least two years of end-to-end payroll experience, ideally gained in a bureau setting. A strong working knowledge of PAYE procedures is essential, along with the ability to perform statutory payment calculations accurately.
You should also be confident using payroll software, spreadsheets, and journal entries, and have a solid understanding of pension processes and auto-enrolment administration. Strong spoken and written communication skills are important, as is the ability to stay effective under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
Benefits and rewards
The package includes 33 days of annual leave including bank holidays, with a different allowance for students on a study package and for partners. You will also receive your birthday off, a lead incentive scheme for eligible levels, and a yearly reimbursement for one professional subscription.
Additional benefits include private medical cover for director and partner levels, enhanced parental and family leave, flexible working, life assurance worth four times salary, an employee referral bonus, access to an employee benefits portal, and the YuLife wellbeing app with extras such as EAP support, 24/7 GP access, retail vouchers and discounts, free digital will writing, and discounted gym memberships.
Other benefits mentioned are a pension, paid sick leave, career coaching, cycle to work support, access to an employee assistance program for you and your family, dress-for-your-day flexibility, and extensive learning, development, and study support opportunities.
Additional terms
Enhanced parental and family leave is provided subject to eligibility. The maternity arrangement includes 100% pay for the first 3 months and 50% pay for the next 3 months. Paternity leave includes 100% pay for 2 weeks, and adoption leave follows the same structure. Flexible working is part of the employer policy.
