Overview
The Family Resource and Training Center (FRTC) within the College of Professional Programs at Eastern Washington University is inviting applications for a part-time Recruitment & Retention Coordinator position. This role focuses on supporting sustainable regional recruitment efforts for foster families across Idaho, in partnership with statewide contractors. The coordinator will lead the implementation of both Statewide and Regional Recruitment Plans, manage the Resource Peer Mentor program, and oversee retention initiatives.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate activities aligned with the Diligent Recruitment Plan for foster families.
- Develop, organize, and manage Recruitment Advisory Councils, including overseeing partner engagement, meeting logistics, agenda planning, and reporting.
- Cultivate collaborative partnerships with community stakeholders to enhance recruitment and retention efforts for foster families.
- Coordinate and execute active and passive recruitment and retention events, as well as support programs.
- Supervise Resource Peer Mentors in the region.
- Document all activities systematically to support data collection and program evaluation.
- Engage in regular travel throughout the state, occasionally involving multi-day or overnight trips, to fulfill job responsibilities.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or an Associate's degree in Social Work, Behavioral Science, Child Development, Education, or related field combined with at least two years of professional experience in child welfare.
- Alternatively, at least two years of program/project management or recruitment experience, including staff supervision, plus two years working in child welfare.
- Completion of mandatory training (Preservice, TOT, TBRI) within six months of hire.
- A minimum of three years of professional experience in social services.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care practices.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the complexities faced by children and families in foster care.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as leadership and supervisory capabilities.
- Proficiency with computer applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and experience managing databases.
- Familiarity with creative design and marketing principles.
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
- Demonstrated flexibility and responsiveness to support diverse student, faculty, staff, and public needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Supervisory experience of two or more years.
- Five or more years of experience in social services.
- Experience in program development.
Additional Information
The position is a 50% administrative exempt role with an anticipated start date of July 15, 2026, located in Twin Falls County. Salary ranges from $27,785.50 to $29,000 annually, depending on education, experience, and skills. The role requires background checks due to unsupervised access to vulnerable populations. Part-time hours are Monday through Friday between 8 AM and 5 PM, with occasional evening and weekend commitments. Travel across the state is required.
