Role overview
This position is for an Organization Design/Development Practitioner within the Downstream Organization Development Division. The role focuses on advising the downstream business on organizational structure, jobs consulting, workforce planning, and continuous improvement initiatives, while also supporting change management when significant business shifts occur.
Downstream Organization Development is responsible for creating organization design recommendations and job consulting support, building assessments for restructuring across downstream entities and affiliates, and applying recognized organization design principles in line with corporate direction. The team also performs workforce planning using demand-and-supply modeling methods across the full downstream workforce. In addition, it leads improvement projects across the business and steps in to support change management as needed.
Primary purpose
You will act as an organization design specialist and organization development advisor to Downstream and DOD management, as well as to key stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project assignments by setting scope, goals, work plans, schedules, and study methods, then collecting and interpreting data, preparing recommendations, supporting implementation, and completing post-project reviews where needed.
- Partner with business teams to assess major organizational issues and propose interventions that improve overall business performance.
- Independently solve complex organization development and business challenges with minimal supervision.
- Take on a team-lead role when necessary and guide less experienced colleagues in their work.
- Contribute to the growth and development of junior consultants.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or Engineering from a recognized and approved institution is required; a master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
- At least 15 years of experience in organization development, management consulting, operating model design, or workforce analytics, with strong familiarity with downstream value chains such as refining, pipelines, terminals, distribution, petrochemicals, and power distribution.
- At least 10 years of that experience should be in consulting for downstream businesses.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and business intelligence tools is required.
- Must be willing and able to travel and work flexibly to meet clients.
- Previous experience in the GCC region is preferred.
