Role Overview

Join our Brantford, Ontario bakery as a Logistics Operator, responsible for the safe and effective movement of raw materials and finished items within the facility. You'll play a critical role in optimizing production flow, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring timely shipping and receiving operations.

Work Schedule

  • 12-hour rotating continental shift schedule alternating biweekly between days and nights.
  • Weekend work required as per the continental shift roster.

Compensation

  • Starting hourly wage of $30.88 plus applicable shift premiums.

Core Duties

  • Operate various powered industrial vehicles to transport materials securely around the facility.
  • Assist production and logistics teams by supplying materials to picking and production lines.
  • Perform shipping and receiving tasks for raw materials and final products.
  • Keep accurate records and update systems regarding material movements and inventory status.
  • Comply strictly with Good Manufacturing Practices, food safety protocols, quality, and workplace safety requirements.
  • Maintain clear communication with supervisors and team members to resolve operational challenges and prioritize tasks.
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe working environment within both the warehouse and production areas.

Basic Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency.
  • At least 2 to 3 years experience operating forklifts within warehouse or manufacturing settings.
  • Valid certification for forklift operation including Counterbalance, Walkie, Raymond, and High Reach equipment from a qualified training provider.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work autonomously, and excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform activities that include standing, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, and stooping.
  • Successful completion of a clear criminal background check or possession of a pardon.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Mechanical aptitude allowing for troubleshooting and minor equipment repairs.
  • Experience in food manufacturing or environments with regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Strong teamwork abilities and interpersonal skills.
