About the Role

We are looking to hire a Background Screening Representative to support our Workforce Screening operations. This important position ensures that background checks for employees and contingent workers are carried out accurately, confidentially, and in compliance with applicable regulations before employment start dates. The role involves coordination with candidates, internal teams, and third-party screening vendors to manage background check cases, resolve discrepancies, and escalate adverse findings when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and candidates to guarantee completion of background screening before scheduled start dates.
  • Communicate directly with candidates and employees undergoing background checks, adhering to relevant regulatory standards.
  • Review screening results and investigate any discrepancies identified by third-party vendors.
  • Manage Requests for Information (RFIs) by liaising with candidates to confirm employment, education, and other verifications essential for employment.
  • Identify and escalate adverse or conflicting findings, such as issues with education or employment records, following established protocols.
  • Forward adverse information to senior management, Compliance, Human Resources, and Employment Law teams to assist in review and decision-making processes.
  • Work closely with HR onboarding teams and external background screening vendors to assure timely and accurate resolution of cases.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience in background screening, case management, human resources, or a related operational role.
  • Strong client orientation paired with good judgment and the ability to handle confidential information securely.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
