Job Summary

Operations Workflow

The operation includes three main stages: First mile where products are stored and ready, Middle mile for transport to the area, and Last mile for delivery to customer doors. Although site layouts may differ, our commitment to customer satisfaction remains consistent.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide coaching, mentorship, and motivation to salaried and hourly staff.
• Steer large-scale projects impacting both site and regional operations.
• Develop and implement productivity strategies by analyzing forecasts and coordinating with leadership teams.
• Oversee safety protocols, quality control, productivity metrics, and customer delivery commitments.
• Collaborate with support departments including Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, and Human Resources to align plans with business goals.
• Physically handle up to 49 pounds and perform frequent movements such as pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching.
• Maintain physical activity by standing or walking for up to 12 hours per shift.
• Operate in variable noise environments that may be loud.
• Work under different temperature conditions and weather, especially in outdoor loading areas.
• Regularly climb and descend stairs where applicable.

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years managing employee performance.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; alternatively, a minimum of 2 years as an Amazon full-time employee.
• Availability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 1 year experience in performance metrics, process improvements, or lean methodologies.
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
• Experience leading teams of 2 or more salaried staff and over 70 indirect employees.
• Proficient in process improvement tools such as Lean, Kaizen, or Six Sigma.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Consistent achievement of departmental performance targets.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or related fields.
• Experience in sectors like military, manufacturing, automotive, biotech, electronics, energy, defense/aerospace, medical, cosmetics, production, or distribution.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary range for this position in San Diego, CA is $91,000 to $136,500. Compensation packages also include signing bonuses and restricted stock units.
