Operations Manager

About the Role

Amazon seeks a dynamic Operations Manager to lead and optimize processes across multiple logistics points, including fulfillment centers, sortation hubs, and last-mile delivery centers. This is a pivotal role focused on delivering exceptional customer experiences through effective leadership, operational agility, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, implement, and oversee seamless processes from fulfillment to last-mile deliveries.
• Recruit, train, and develop a motivated workforce to meet city-specific operational demands, maintaining Amazon's high standards for quality and productivity.
• Ensure adequate staffing to manage peak operational volumes effectively.
• Collaborate with Finance, Delivery Stations, Fulfillment Centers, and Project teams on city operations-related matters.
• Conduct performance evaluations and mentor team members to enhance operational efficiency.
• Drive continuous process improvements to sustain high performance, elevate quality, reduce waste, and eliminate redundant activities.
• Analyze operational data to pinpoint bottlenecks and implement corrective measures.

A Typical Day Includes

• Heading regional initiatives focused on safety, employee engagement, network speed, and cost optimization.
• Facilitating daily stand-ups, weekly business reviews, monthly reviews, and peak readiness meetings.
• Utilizing data analytics to identify and resolve performance constraints through methodologies like Kaizen and continuous improvement.
• Designing and adjusting labor plans to balance cost efficiency with performance standards and employee experience.
• Mentoring Operations Managers to foster a culture that challenges norms and encourages process innovation, while benchmarking and adopting best practices among regional and central teams.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience in operations, logistics, or supply chain management.
• At least 3 years of experience managing teams and overseeing performance.
• Holds a bachelor's degree or equivalent, or alternatively, 2 or more years of direct Amazon employment experience.
• Preferred: A minimum of 1 year experience in performance metrics, process enhancements, or lean methodologies.
• Strong leadership qualities, excellent communication, adaptability in ambiguous conditions, and analytical thinking are essential.
