About the Role
Pratt & Whitney, a leader in aircraft engine and auxiliary power units manufacturing and services, is seeking an experienced NDT Inspector specialized in Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) to join their onsite team in Singapore at 51 Seletar Aerospace View. The company operates as part of RTX, a forefront innovator in aviation and integrated defense systems, focused on next-generation technology and manufacturing solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and calibrate inspection equipment to standardized specifications, process parts accurately, interpret results thoroughly, and document findings following established procedures.
- Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of FPI methods, including their scope and limitations, providing guidance and training to Level 1 personnel and trainees as certified and assigned.
- Ensure compliance with Pratt & Whitney codes, contractual documents, and standards governing non-destructive testing methods and techniques.
- Undertake system performance evaluations in line with applicable process standards.
- Develop and oversee procedural documentation and inspection technique sheets with authorization for NDT Level 3 approvals.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support Customer Oriented Results & Excellence (CORE) programs.
- Adapt and learn innovative advanced inspection technologies as they arise.
- Perform additional assigned duties as needed.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Diploma in Engineering or related technical discipline.
- Certified Level 2 qualification in Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection coupled with a minimum of 400 hours practical inspection experience.
- Knowledgeable in product manufacturing processes and inspection technologies.
- Proficient with inspection gauges, tools, and equipment.
- Ability to interpret technical instructions, engineering drawings, and standard operating procedures accurately.
- Detail-oriented with a practical, hands-on working style.
- Physically capable of handling parts and fixtures using appropriate equipment and tools.
- Pass vision acuity tests (including the Jaeger #1 test at 12 inches) and color blindness assessments.
- Flexibility to work night shifts and overtime as required.
