Position Overview

We are actively building a talent pipeline for experienced Mortgage Underwriters to join us as we continue scaling. While immediate start dates may not always be available, opportunities may open sooner as the company grows. This position involves remote work with occasional expectations to visit an office when possible, and sometimes requires flexibility beyond traditional Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm MST hours.

Responsibilities

• Assess and underwrite complex, high-value mortgage loan applications including those with distinctive borrower profiles or property types.
• Manage mortgage processes from application to funding with support from Mortgage Financial Officers (MFOs).
• Ensure effective communication with the Mortgage Sales team, brokers, and internal/external partners regarding mortgage procedures, expectations, and required documentation.
• Collaborate with Sales teams, Coordinators, MFOs, and brokers to provide ongoing updates on active mortgage files.
• Employ problem-solving skills to make informed decisions on intricate mortgage cases, potentially involving review of mortgage documentation.
• Develop expertise in product functionality, services, technological tools, and Salesforce CRM usage.
• Stay updated on current industry developments to maintain competitive advantage.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years underwriting experience within the Canadian mortgage sector.
• A strong commitment to continuous growth and delivering excellence in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Exceptional client-focused attitude combined with intense dedication and focus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
• Highly organized and skilled in managing time effectively.

Additional Information

• This role is primarily based in-office but offers flexibility for remote candidates outside office locations.
• Work hours may occasionally extend beyond standard business hours to meet company needs.

Compensation and Benefits

Neo offers a competitive, market-aligned base salary ranging between CA$60,000 and CA$80,000, with opportunities to adjust compensation between cash and equity components tailored to individual long-term goals. Exceptional candidates may receive compensation above this range.
