Role Overview
The MEP Inspector plays a vital role in supervising mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works on construction sites to ensure conformity with approved plans, specifications, and applicable standards and codes. This full-time, on-site position based in Dubai involves conducting daily inspections, documenting observations, and preparing detailed reports related to workmanship, materials, and safety concerns. The role requires coordination with contractors, consultants, and internal teams to address technical challenges and facilitate timely completion of MEP tasks. Responsibilities also include verifying installation quality, witnessing testing and commissioning processes, detecting non-compliances, and managing corrective measures. The inspector additionally supports progress tracking, thorough documentation, and compliance with health, safety, and environmental protocols.
Qualifications
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within building and infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in interpreting drawings, specifications, standards, and reviewing shop drawings and technical submissions.
- Experience in site inspection and quality control, including supervision, defect identification, and validation of remedial works.
- Capability to support testing and commissioning by witnessing functional tests, verifying system operations, and recording outcomes.
- Effective communication and coordination abilities to liaise with contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders, as well as to produce clear inspection reports.
- Awareness of health, safety, and environmental practices relevant to construction sites and MEP works.
- Preferred educational background includes a diploma or bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or building services engineering or a related discipline, coupled with prior experience as an MEP Inspector or equivalent role.
- Additional advantages include relevant certifications, knowledge of Dubai regulations and international standards, and competence with typical office and site documentation software.
