Role Responsibilities
- Ensure that all assigned projects comply with necessary technical standards.
- Complete the mechanical scopes of work effectively within projects.
- Oversee the selection of consultants and establish clear responsibility assignments (RACI matrices).
- Participate actively in design team meetings, both in-person and via MSTF Teams.
- Coordinate design schedules to align with planning teams.
- Review client responsibility matrices for compatibility with project and commercial teams.
- Manage RIBA stages 3 through 5 design procedures and workflows.
- Develop comprehensive design management plans for projects.
- Implement Central Engineering checklists across projects to maintain quality and standards.
- Manage design processes to support safe manufacturing and assembly as required.
- Maintain and control key project trackers such as procurement schedules, technical submittal registers, drawing registers, RFI logs, deviation trackers, lessons learned logs, and design change logs from initiation to handover.
- Regularly monitor all schedules and tracking tools throughout project lifecycles.
- Conduct scheduled technical submittal and working drawing reviews with relevant teams.
- Support the project teams in workload management related to technical submittals, drawing reviews, RFIs, and similar activities.
- Collaborate with teams to optimize purchasing decisions by reviewing orders for cost-efficiency.
- Drive value engineering initiatives by challenging consultants and internal teams.
- Ensure adherence to ISO19650 standards in project documentation and processes.
- Prepare and deliver project reports regularly to direct managers as agreed.
- Contribute to tenders and pre-construction estimating activities as needed.
- Assist in managing the value engineering log for Data Centre & Building Services groups.
- Perform any other design-related duties as assigned by direct management.
- Participate in weekly Central Engineering Stage 5 model review meetings.
- Facilitate lessons learned sessions during the design stages to improve future practices.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to graduate engineers in producing technical submissions, managing drawing production, issuing RFIs, and client communication.
- Attend occasional site visits across Europe for project oversight.
- Join monthly face-to-face Central Engineering meetings.
Candidate Requirements
- Possess a third-level qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Design Engineering.
- Have a minimum of three years' experience working on large-scale industrial plant projects.
- Be proficient with mechanical design software/tools related to the role.
- Demonstrate excellent communication abilities.
- Show high standards for the quality and presentation of work.
- Be able to work onsite at our headquarters in Dublin.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with data centre projects will be viewed favorably, though it is not mandatory.
