We are looking for a Material Handler to join our Burnfoot facility in County Donegal. This position suits individuals who thrive in a dynamic, hands-on production environment and are committed to safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations. The selected candidate will ensure materials are efficiently managed, stored, and supplied to meet production requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Track live production schedules using the IFS system to coordinate and deliver materials from stores to production teams.
- Identify and report any material damages or shortages, raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and collaborate with quality and engineering teams to resolve issues promptly.
- Maintain proper storage, labeling, and organization of materials, ensuring accurate project allocation when items leave an area.
- Follow up on outstanding material requirements and keep the Team Leader informed.
- Keep the work environment tidy, safe, and well-ordered.
- Facilitate timely materials distribution between stores, production, fabrication, and assembly departments.
- Provide support and mentoring to junior colleagues, recognize training needs, and escalate when necessary.
- Adhere to and promote Vertiv Operating System (VOS) principles and initiatives aimed at continuous improvement.
- Comply with all safety, security, and regulatory standards, including Health & Safety, risk assessments, and COSHH requirements.
Inventory and Stock Control Duties
- Conduct physical stock counts in assigned areas to verify accuracy against system records.
- Investigate and reconcile discrepancies between physical counts and ERP data.
- Update warehouse management systems to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Support stock replenishment by organizing and relocating materials to ensure availability for production.
- Utilize barcode scanners, ERP, and warehouse management tools to efficiently track material movements.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience in manufacturing or warehouse settings.
- Strong attention to detail with accurate data recording and stock counting skills.
- Basic proficiency in mathematics and computer skills for data entry and inventory reconciliation.
- Effective verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Familiarity with workshop equipment, processes, and protocols.
- Clean disciplinary record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of molding systems and production workflows.
- Experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts or similar machinery.
Physical Demands
The position requires regular walking, standing, and lifting within a busy warehouse setting. Experience with forklifts or warehouse machinery is beneficial for managing inventory movement.
