MAS Actuarial Analyst

Role Overview

This position involves actuarial valuation and financial reporting tasks primarily supporting GAAP, Statutory, and Tax reserving processes. Responsibilities include detailed analysis and consolidation of valuation results, preparation of statutory filings, quarterly GAAP earnings review, actuarial ledger reconciliation, and compliance with SOX and MAR controls. The role also supports audit and external stakeholders.

Key Qualifications

• Between 3 to 6 years of relevant actuarial or analytical experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities with proficiency in preparing and presenting analytical results.
• Advanced skills in Excel including Power Queries, along with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
• Programming experience using SQL, VBA, and SAS.
• Competence in data transformation using Microsoft Access.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational capabilities.
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills, particularly in math and analytics.
• Experience in performing data analysis, explanation, and development of trends and analytics.
• Statistical analysis expertise with large data sets.
• Operational knowledge of life insurance and annuity products.
• Familiarity with reserving requirements under GAAP, Statutory, and Tax frameworks.
