About Publik Agency and the Role

Publik is deeply committed to the Te Tauihu region, with a strong passion for marketing and communication. Our mission is to empower outstanding regional and national clients to reach their goals through effective marketing and public relations strategies. We invite a Marketing Consultant to join our team who shares this enthusiasm and embraces the evolving landscape of marketing.

This is a permanent position available full or part-time, starting Monday 17 August 2026. It arose due to maternity leave, so a 12-month contract option may also be negotiated if preferred.

Role Overview

The Marketing Consultant will assist senior marketing and PR consultants and directors at Publik Agency in delivering client marketing and communications campaigns and initiatives. They will report directly to the Marketing Director.

Responsibilities

  • Apply extensive expertise in brand marketing across digital and traditional platforms.
  • Participate in stakeholder research and help develop brands along with innovative strategies and tactics instrumental in achieving client goals.
  • Lead best practice marketing campaigns from conception through to execution.
  • Measure campaign outcomes and provide insightful performance reports relative to objectives.
  • Create or supervise the development of compelling content that accurately conveys client messaging and suits specific channels.
  • Manage projects involving digital or comprehensive marketing campaigns, collateral, or other initiatives.
  • Update website content and visuals as needed.
  • Coordinate agency contractors, including photographers, videographers, and graphic designers.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and/or demonstrable experience in marketing or a comparable role.
  • Current knowledge of trends and best practices in branding, marketing, and artificial intelligence applications.
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative team environment.
  • Familiarity with content management systems such as Squarespace, WordPress, and SilverStripe.
  • Experience with email marketing tools like Campaign Monitor and Mailchimp and survey platforms like SurveyMonkey.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, Meta platforms, Google Analytics, GEO tools, and AI-driven marketing technologies.
  • Skills in event and vendor management and handling budgets.
