Core Responsibilities

  • Identify risks throughout all project stages such as design, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
  • Create and update a detailed project risk register encompassing technical, commercial, contractual, operational, safety, and external risks.
  • Conduct regular risk workshops involving project stakeholders and engineering disciplines.
  • Carry out both qualitative and quantitative risk assessments, analyzing the likelihood and potential impact on cost, schedule, and quality.
  • Perform schedule risk analyses to pinpoint key risk drivers and support advanced risk modeling techniques like Monte Carlo simulations.
  • Develop and oversee mitigation and contingency strategies, collaborating with planning, cost control, and engineering teams to implement these actions.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of risk responses; escalate significant risks to senior management with proposed recommendations.
  • Integrate risk management processes closely with project planning and cost control, supporting Earned Value Management and forecasting efforts.
  • Prepare and deliver detailed risk reports, dashboards, and concise executive summaries to management and client representatives.
  • Assist with contractual risk-related activities such as delay analysis and claims evaluations related to extension of time and disruptions.
  • Coordinate with various teams including project managers, engineers, procurement, and subcontractors to ensure comprehensive risk review and alignment.
  • Provide clear communication of critical risks to senior leadership and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Prior experience working in the GCC or specifically the Saudi Arabian construction market is preferred.
