Role Overview
This role focuses on ensuring the efficient, safe, compliant, and economical delivery of engineering projects, CAPEX initiatives, civil infrastructure upkeep, utility reliability, fabrication and workshop operations, sustainability initiatives, and continuous enhancements through rigorous planning, execution, documentation, stakeholder engagement, and governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, budget, execute, monitor, and finalize CAPEX projects related to infrastructure, sustainability, EHS, food safety, and operational improvements, strictly adhering to timelines, budgets, quality, and governance norms.
- Oversee maintenance and reliable functioning of plant facilities including buildings, civil infrastructure, utilities (steam, chilled water, air, water, fire water), water treatment plants, pipelines, roads, and roofs through preventive maintenance and repairs.
- Manage fabrication tasks, workshop activities, procurement, vendor development, contractor oversight, technical assessments, material scheduling, and resource management supporting both maintenance and project objectives.
- Champion asset reliability, operational excellence, energy conservation, sustainability, efficiency optimization, and continuous improvement, tracking realized benefits and cost savings.
- Ensure compliance with EHS, GMP, Food Safety, statutory, and corporate standards via robust documentation, audits, risk assessments, PTW/LOTO implementation, contractor safety management, and coordination with cross-functional teams.
Scope and Scale
- Annual CAPEX responsibility exceeding ₹20 crores.
- Management of 8-10 projects per year.
- Maintenance responsibility covering approximately 50,000 sq. meters of plant area.
- Oversight of utility systems including steam, chilled water, air, water, fire water, WTP, ETP, STP, cooling towers, and HVAC.
- Assets managed include civil structures, utility infrastructure, fabrication, and workshop equipment.
- Compliance obligations span EHS, GMP, Food Safety, sustainability, and statutory requirements.
Minimum Education and Experience
- PMP certification is required.
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or related field is preferred.
- At least 7 years of professional experience, with minimum 4 years in project management and 1-2 years in plant civil/building maintenance.
- Minimum 4 years of experience within the food and beverage industry.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Comprehensive understanding of Food & Beverage/FMCG manufacturing processes, GMP, HACCP, Food Safety, EHS, and regulatory compliance.
- Expertise in project management, CAPEX budgeting, cost control, procurement, and vendor/contractor management.
- Familiarity with civil maintenance, fabrication, welding, industrial infrastructure, and utility systems.
- Operational knowledge of boilers, steam, air compressors, chillers, cooling towers, HVAC, DG sets, WTP, ETP, STP, fire water systems, process water, pumps, motors, and VFDs.
- Proficiency in preventive maintenance, reliability engineering, asset management techniques, root cause analysis, FMEA, TPM, sustainability frameworks, energy management including ISO 50001, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong skills in project planning, scheduling, execution, monitoring, and communication.
- Analytical abilities for cost analysis, forecasting, financial tracking, and benefit realization.
- Vendor development, technical evaluation, contractor management, and cross-functional stakeholder coordination capabilities.
- Experience with SAP/ERP systems, AutoCAD, PowerPoint, MS Project, Excel, Power BI, and reporting tools.
- Capability to manage multiple projects, lead teams, analyze technical and financial data, and implement improvements.
