Job Overview

This contract-based, remote role involves working as a Malayalam Language Specialist to review AI-generated Malayalam text and produce high-quality Malayalam reference content. Your evaluation will focus on language quality and stepwise reasoning, accompanied by precise written feedback.

Primary Duties

• Create prompts and gold-standard Malayalam responses in diverse areas such as general knowledge, customer support, education, and conversational writing.
• Assess and rank AI outputs to enhance fluency, accuracy, tone alignment, and cultural relevance.
• Identify unsafe or misleading content, hallucinated facts, biased or policy-risk language and verify the reliability of outputs across various applications.

Candidate Profile

• Holds a Bachelor's degree or higher in Linguistics, Malayalam/English Literature, Communications, Journalism, Translation, or an equivalent professional background.
• Native or near-native proficiency in reading and writing Malayalam.
• Strong professional English language skills (minimum C1 level) to understand guidelines and provide detailed English feedback.
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in writing, editing, localization, translation, content quality assurance, journalism, education, or similar language-driven roles.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Malayalam grammar, spelling, punctuation, and style, capable of explaining and correcting errors.
• Familiarity with different registers (formal and informal), dialectal variations within Kerala, and adaptation for Indian and diaspora audiences.
• Exceptional attention to detail for detecting nuanced meaning changes, awkward literal translations, false claims, and culturally inappropriate expressions.
• Self-motivated, dependable, and able to maintain consistent quality in a remote hourly contractor position working across multiple time zones.
• Preference given to experience in AI data training or annotation, translation quality assurance, editorial quality control, or rubric-based assessment.
