Maintenance Electrician

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced mobile Maintenance Electrician to join our Maintenance Division on a full-time permanent basis. This role involves performing planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and small electrical projects across multiple client locations. The successful candidate will ensure all electrical systems are maintained safely and effectively, meeting statutory regulations, company protocols, and client standards while delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute planned preventative maintenance and reactive repair tasks in line with contractual, statutory, and company guidelines.
• Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns adhering to service level agreements; diagnose and resolve faults efficiently to reduce downtime and maximize first-time fix success.
• Perform authorized statutory inspections and testing as competent.
• Carry out small installations, refurbishments, and upgrades to high-quality standards within set schedules and budgets.
• Accurately log all maintenance activities using the Computer-Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) system.
• Conduct site surveys for minor projects and order materials required for upcoming maintenance works.
• Ensure full compliance with company safety and operational procedures such as ESSoW, Safe Work Plans, Method Statements, and Risk Assessments when starting work.
• Manage documentation quality, compliance, and timely delivery.
• Complete electronic reporting for all PPM and reactive maintenance activities including recommendations and remedial measures pending approval.
• Foster a culture of superior customer service and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues and clients.
• Maintain effective communication with clients to promptly address issues and sustain positive engagements.
• Adhere to the highest Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety (QEHS) standards, reporting any hazards, near misses, or non-conformances encountered.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate or equivalent qualification in Electrical Craft.
• At least four years of experience working in a fast-paced commercial electrical environment.
• Experience with Thermal Imaging and Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail with experience in maintenance and small project execution.
• Good understanding of Health and Safety regulations and compliance.
• Possession of a full, clean driver’s license.
• Basic IT competencies and readiness to adopt new software platforms.
• Familiarity with Facilities Management, especially building mechanical and electrical services, is preferable.
