Position Summary

We are searching for a motivated Machine Learning Engineer for a fixed 12-month full-time role within Bayer's Crop Science research sector located in Frankfurt, Germany. This position integrates advanced computational techniques with scientific research, supporting innovative, data-centric projects across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and enhance machine learning models using Python.
• Handle and analyze extensive, complex, and varied datasets in a research environment.
• Examine and replicate scientific methods from academic literature.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary stakeholders including experimental scientists to comprehend data generation and research objectives.
• Effectively communicate technical insights to both expert and non-expert audiences.
• Uphold high standards in coding practices, ensuring reproducibility and thorough documentation.

Candidate Profile

• Possess a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Bioinformatics, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Proficient in Python programming, including libraries such as NumPy, pandas, and ML frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Strong grasp of machine learning concepts and model development processes.
• Experience or familiarity with deep learning or sophisticated modeling methods is advantageous.
• Capability to interpret and apply methodologies from scientific publications.
• Enthusiasm for working at the convergence of computational and experimental research.
• Excellent analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills and adeptness in interdisciplinary teamwork.
