About the Role

Join Nestlé, the world's largest food and beverage company, as a Local Sourcing Manager based in Accra, Ghana. This role plays a critical part in developing and executing sourcing strategies for locally managed categories, aligned with Nestlé's global procurement policies and strategic sourcing methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee a team of Strategic Buyers, guiding the crafting and execution of sourcing strategies for local categories using Nestlé's standardized procurement tools and policies.
  • Build and sustain in-depth knowledge of local spend categories, fostering expertise within the team.
  • Perform comprehensive analyses including demand forecasting, supplier market trends, category insights, and supply risk evaluations.
  • Understand and apply Total Cost of Ownership concepts to identify opportunities for enhanced sourcing efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Organize and carry out negotiation sessions to secure optimal contracts offering favorable terms and conditions.
  • Ensure adherence to Nestlé's Corporate Business Principles, procurement standards, and supplier code of conduct.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to integrate sourcing plans into local financial budgets and pricing strategies.
  • Promote supplier innovation initiatives and continuous cost-saving efforts.
  • Manage contracts and supplier relationships, including regular review of Service Level Agreements.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and data integrity within systems such as SAP.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • At least 5 years' experience in strategic sourcing or procurement roles.
  • Proven success in delivering competitive advantages through effective sourcing strategy development and execution.
  • Extensive knowledge of managing multiple spend categories and strategic sourcing processes.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to manage teams and achieve targets.
  • Strong negotiation and project management skills.
  • Experience in supplier risk and relationship management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Familiarity with e-auctions and procurement software is advantageous.
  • Ability to handle competing priorities with a strong focus on cost optimization.
