About the Role
Join ASB Bank as a Software Consultant – Testing within the Payments Tribe, specifically in the Cross-border domain which modernizes crucial international payment services. This position demands technical leadership in quality engineering with a focus on automation testing strategies that ensure secure, reliable, and high-performing payment experiences for customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership regarding quality engineering practices across squads in the Cross-border domain.
- Develop and lead test strategies for complex, high-risk, or large-scale initiatives.
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert for automation testing and engineering challenges.
- Drive enhancements in CI/CD, DevOps, and engineering quality measures.
- Design and advance scalable automation testing solutions.
- Mentor and coach engineers within teams to uplift engineering capabilities.
- Influence engineering standards, practices, and technical decisions across wider teams.
- Identify systemic quality issues and promote improvements across squads.
- Support regulatory compliance, production stability, and enterprise-level quality requirements.
Candidate Profile
- Over 10 years’ extensive experience in quality engineering and test automation within complex environments.
- More than 5 years leading complex automation testing solutions and developing scalable automation frameworks.
- Strong expertise in CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and cloud environments, particularly Microsoft Azure.
- Ability to design, implement and scale test automation strategies across multiple teams.
- Demonstrated leadership as a technical expert or trusted advisor within engineering groups.
- Excellent mentorship and coaching skills for developing engineering talent.
- Comprehensive understanding of system-level testing, risk management, and enterprise deliverables.
- Working knowledge of SQL databases and CosmosDB.
- Strong influencing skills beyond immediate team boundaries.
Preferred Additional Skills
- Experience with payments or financial system domains.
- Background working with distributed or high-throughput systems.
- Proficiency in performance testing tools such as JMeter, K6, or LoadRunner.
- Familiarity with test simulators like FINSIM.
- Possession of ISTQB certification.
