Lead Cloud Data Architect (GCP)

Overview

This role seeks a seasoned Lead Cloud Data Architect proficient in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) technologies. Candidates must demonstrate an extensive background in designing, optimizing, and securing scalable cloud data platforms suitable for enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities and Skills

• Design and implement scalable and secure cloud data solutions utilizing Google Cloud resources.
• Optimize performance and cost-efficiency for BigQuery data warehousing, including managing slots, reservations, and flex slots.
• Lead seamless migrations from on-premises data systems to Google Cloud Platform environments.
• Architect real-time streaming data pipelines leveraging Pub/Sub and Dataflow with Apache Beam.
• Develop and maintain cloud data orchestration workflows using Cloud Composer (Airflow) and Dataproc clusters.
• Ensure compliance and enforcement of data governance and security standards using Dataplex, IAM condition-based policies, VPC Service Controls, and Cloud Key Management Service (KMS).
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform for environment provisioning and management.
• Leverage Anthos for hybrid-cloud solutions to enable operational connectivity between on-premises and cloud platforms.

Certifications

Holding the Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer certification is mandatory.

Work Location

This full-time position is based onsite in Doha, Qatar.
