Role Overview

As a Kitchen Steward, you will be vital in ensuring seamless kitchen operations by maintaining exceptional cleanliness and hygiene standards. Your duties encompass washing dishes, utensils, and equipment; caring for kitchen machinery; keeping culinary workspaces immaculate; and contributing to efficient back-of-house activities. Additionally, you will assist with inventory management, deliveries, waste handling, and general cleaning tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate commercial dishwashers and cleaning equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen surfaces and tools.
• Handle cleaning chemicals safely following established guidelines.
• Support chefs and kitchen personnel during service times.
• Organize stock and manage waste disposal effectively.
• Assist in receiving deliveries and maintaining orderly storage areas.

Candidate Profile

Effective candidates are proactive, quick-moving, and detail-oriented, with a commitment to safety, cleanliness, and hygiene in a fast-paced kitchen setting. While prior kitchen steward experience is preferred, it is not mandatory. Availability for night, weekend, and rotating shifts is essential. Possession or willingness to obtain Food Safety Certification is expected.
