About the Role
This opportunity is for a seasoned Java Developer based onsite in Montreal, Canada. The role requires between 5 to 12 years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-level applications in the Financial and Wealth Management sector. The developer should possess proficient knowledge of Core Java, with desirable skills in Python and Spring Boot frameworks. Familiarity with scalable microservices architecture and Agile methodologies is valued.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain Java-based enterprise solutions.
- Develop and manage Spring Boot microservices and RESTful APIs.
- Collaborate closely with diverse teams to provide effective business technology solutions.
- Enhance application efficiency including optimization of database operations.
- Author unit tests to uphold high code quality standards.
- Engage in continuous integration and deployment processes and Agile workflows.
- Diagnose and resolve issues encountered in production environments.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Extensive experience in Core Java development (mandatory).
- Practical knowledge of Spring Boot and Python programming (preferred).
- Proficiency in creating RESTful services and microservices architectures.
- Good understanding of SQL and DB2 databases.
- Exposure to Apache Spark is advantageous.
- Experience with testing frameworks like JUnit, as well as Jenkins and SonarQube tools.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies.
- Knowledge of Kafka messaging systems and cloud services such as AWS, Azure or GCP is considered a plus.
- Experience working within Agile or Scrum teams.
