IT Asset & CMDB Management Analyst

About the Role

We are working with a leading financial services organization seeking an experienced IT Asset Manager to manage and optimize their IT assets and configuration data. This role is critical to maintaining accurate asset records, ensuring software compliance, and supporting operational resilience by using industry-standard IT asset management tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the entire lifecycle of IT assets, from purchase to retirement, ensuring comprehensive inventory management.
• Maintain the integrity and governance of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and related data relationships.
• Manage software asset activities including inventory tracking, license monitoring, usage analysis, and optimization efforts.
• Support software compliance by monitoring licensing adherence and identifying risks.
• Perform frequent audits and reconciliation tasks to assure data quality across asset and CMDB systems.
• Collaborate closely with IT, procurement, security, and business departments to ensure accurate asset ownership and configuration information.
• Generate reports and documentation supporting governance, audits, and regulatory compliance objectives.
• Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance asset management efficiency and data accuracy.

Required Experience

• Minimum of three years in IT Asset Management, Software Asset Management, or related field.
• Practical experience with ServiceNow CMDB, ITAM, or similar configuration management platforms.
• Familiarity with software asset management tools such as Flexera or their equivalents.
• Proven ability to manage hardware and software assets throughout their lifecycle.
• Strong knowledge of software licensing models and software compliance requirements.
• Experience supporting audits, governance, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-organizational teams including IT operations, procurement, finance, and information security.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) processes and practices.
• Understanding of configuration management, service mapping, and discovery tools.
• Awareness of operational resilience and regulatory compliance standards.
• Analytical skills to interpret asset data and develop actionable reports.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Experience driving process improvements focused on data governance and operational efficiency.
• Understanding of enterprise IT infrastructure, cloud technologies, and software landscapes.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related subject.
• Industry certifications in IT Asset Management, ITIL, ServiceNow, or Software Asset Management are advantageous.
