About the Role
A partner company in Ireland is seeking an Instructional Technologist to develop and enhance training programs for a leading next-generation energy project. This role revolves around designing structured, compliant learning solutions for plant personnel, combining deep instructional design knowledge with technical and regulatory expertise to ensure workforce readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement training programs, protocols, and procedures to establish a new training organization aligned with company standards, regulations, industry guidelines, and accreditation rules.
- Formulate and execute strategies that facilitate initial accreditation and sustain long-term training program effectiveness.
- Apply the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) to design, maintain, and upgrade high-quality learning curricula.
- Revise and develop training materials incorporating changes in plant design, operational procedures, and evolving technical demands.
- Coordinate with management, emergency response teams, project partners, regulators, and internal units to boost training efficacy.
- Create dependable assessment tools, such as exams, trainee evaluations, classroom modules, lab exercises, on-the-job training resources, and simulator-based evaluations.
- Set up systems for reviewing training outcomes, offering trainee guidance, and developing personalized learning plans.
- Integrate industry insights, regulatory updates, operational experiences, and internal lessons into training content continually.
- Assist in preparing for regulatory inspections, accreditation assessments, management audits, and compliance checks.
- Ensure precise maintenance of training documentation, reports, and audit-ready records.
- Support leadership with departmental planning, defining objectives, resource estimation, and budgeting tasks.
- Promote a culture centered around quality, accountability, collaboration, and continuous enhancement of training initiatives.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional design, training, or related discipline.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in education, instructional development, instructional technology, or a comparable field.
- Proven background in developing training programs within technical, industrial, or strictly regulated settings.
- Familiarity with training standards, regulatory compliance, accreditation procedures, and industry best practices.
- Expertise in crafting digital learning content and diverse training delivery techniques.
- Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent skills in technical writing, communication, presentations, and stakeholder engagement.
- High attention to detail and dedication to delivering precise, quality training materials.
- Ability to rapidly adjust to changes in project requirements, operational updates, and shifting priorities.
- Experience in maintaining standards, influencing key stakeholders, and fostering ongoing improvements.
- Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, teamwork, and effective communication across varied groups.
- Understanding of the broader impact of decisions on organizational performance, regulatory adherence, and public safety.
- Experience in nuclear, energy, engineering, or similarly complex technical sectors is highly desirable.
