Job description
About Band
Band is a company dedicated to enhancing business margins by managing and optimizing trade agreements. We utilize adaptable, AI-powered contract and incentive frameworks, alongside data cleaning and integrations, to equip distributors, manufacturers, and buying groups or GPOs with tools to monitor and enhance rebate and special pricing agreement (SPA) funds—often crucial to profit margins. Established and led by veterans who previously founded Blue Apron and crafted products at leading tech firms, Band is supported by investors from fintech, supply chain, and enterprise SaaS sectors.
At Band, our compact team means your contributions will be highly visible and directly influence our products and customers.
Role Overview
New Band customers bring complex vendor contracts and tight deadlines tied to annual program implementations. Your primary responsibility is to translate these agreements into an accurate, live configuration within Band, ensuring successful onboarding.
Primary Duties
- Lead project management for implementations by establishing and updating project plans from initiation through go-live.
- Coordinate multiple onboarding projects concurrently at various stages, maintaining deadlines and conducting customer updates.
- Extract rebate and discount details from vendor agreements, map them into Band’s data model, and prepare upload files.
- Cleanse and validate transaction and vendor datasets before integration into the platform.
- Reconcile calculated outcomes with customer expectations and investigate any mismatches.
- Continuously refine workflows by employing modern tools and AI technology; initiative to eliminate repetitive manual tasks is encouraged.
- Liaise with product and engineering teams to enhance onboarding processes.
Required Qualifications
- At least two years of hands-on experience working with data and collaborating directly with stakeholders or customers.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, including handling large datasets using pivot tables and advanced formulas.
- Ability to interpret complex contract terms involving tiered structures, retroactive eligibility, and multi-party rebate splits, and convert them into structured logic.
- Experience engaging with customers across various stakeholders effectively.
- Strong organizational skills with an ability to enforce deadlines and communicate clearly.
- Experience utilizing AI tools proactively in work tasks beyond basic drafting.
- Solution-driven mindset focused on in-depth analysis and self-directed learning.
- High attention to detail and a preference for accuracy over rework.
Preferred Attributes (Bonus Points)
- Experience with rebate programs, chargebacks, deductions, or supplier programs common in distribution, buying groups, or GPOs.
- Background in accounting or data auditing.
- Previous work experience at small companies (under 50 employees).
- Roles focused on implementation, onboarding, revenue operations, or data analysis.
- Basic SQL knowledge or willingness to develop it.
Interview Process
- Initial call with the Head of Customer Experience (30 minutes).
- Take-home exercise involving a sample vendor agreement and dataset, assessing problem-solving and inquiry ability (approx. 60 minutes).
- Working session reviewing exercise results plus a scenario discussion (60 minutes).
- Final discussion with the CEO (30 minutes).
