Port Hotel Latvia is a spa and conference hotel set in a scenic pine-forest environment in Ādaži. The property is known for its distinctive ship-inspired architecture and offers a calm setting for both guests and employees. It has 29 guest rooms, covering standard accommodation through to premium suites. The in-house restaurant, Porto, operates across two levels and serves classic European dishes along with seasonal specialties from September through December.

Role Overview

This full-time, on-site housekeeping position is based in Bahir Dar, Amhara Region, Ethiopia. The role focuses on keeping guest rooms and shared spaces clean, orderly, and presented to hotel standards while supporting a comfortable and welcoming stay for visitors.

Key Duties

The housekeeper will be expected to clean and organize guest rooms, bathrooms, corridors, and public areas, following the hotel’s procedures and quality expectations.

• Make beds, replace used linens, and ensure rooms are ready for incoming or staying guests.
• Clean and sanitize surfaces, bathrooms, and other high-touch areas.
• Vacuum carpets, sweep where needed, and mop floors to maintain a neat environment.
• Replenish guest supplies and toiletries as required.
• Carry out laundry duties such as washing, drying, and folding towels and bed linen.
• Report repair or maintenance concerns promptly to the relevant team.
• Use cleaning materials and equipment safely, and store them correctly after use.
• Follow all hygiene, safety, and sanitation rules at all times.
• Greet guests politely, handle simple requests, and work cooperatively with other staff members.

Qualifications and Expectations

The ideal candidate should bring practical housekeeping ability, a service-minded attitude, and the discipline to maintain hotel standards consistently.

• Experience in room cleaning, laundry work, and high-standard hygiene practices.
• Professional communication and customer service behavior when dealing with guests and coworkers.
• Strong time management, organization, and attention to detail.
• Readiness to learn, attend training, and follow hotel procedures and safety rules.
• Previous exposure to housekeeping or hospitality will be considered an advantage.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift moderate weights during the shift.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning products and safe handling methods.
• Dependability, honesty, a positive mindset, and a team-oriented approach.
