Head of Program Management

Overview

A leading international engineering group is undergoing a major transformation and seeks an experienced Senior Programme Manager to join the senior leadership team. The successful candidate will lead the delivery of complex customer programmes spanning various industry sectors, ensuring projects meet expectations for safety, quality, timeliness, and budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and transform the technical and project management team into a high-performing unit.
• Manage a portfolio of customer programmes from contract award through design, manufacturing, and on-site installation.
• Ensure projects adhere to safety standards and are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality, ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Act as a senior management team member contributing to strategic direction, maintaining strong governance, resource planning, and implementation of best practice programme management methodologies to promote operational excellence and sustainable business growth.
• Oversee compliance with Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations including risk assessments and method statements.
• Engage proactively with both internal and external stakeholders through active management and communication.

Candidate Profile

• Extensive experience as a Senior Programme Manager or Project Manager, with a background in engineering, manufacturing, contractor management, and site coordination.
• Proven success in delivering high-value, complex capital expenditure projects on time and within budget.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and direct cross-functional teams on turnkey projects.
• Analytical thinker with sound commercial judgment, problem-solving abilities, and business acumen.
• Excellent relationship-building and communication skills across diverse stakeholders.
• Organized and methodical with excellent time management and project management capabilities.
