Role Overview

As a Ground Operations Coordinator based in Cairns or Darwin, you will manage the complete planning and execution of shore excursion programs for cruise ship passengers. This position involves working from home with flexibility to travel to various ports across Queensland and the Northern Territory on cruise arrival days.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle diverse administrative duties such as responding promptly and accurately to cruise line rate requests, managing shore excursion bookings, and overseeing allotments to ensure efficient tour participation.
• Collaborate with suppliers to confirm and schedule tour allotments, provide sales updates, and coordinate operational activities on tour days.
• Arrange and organize Tour Guides, ensuring they are properly prepared to deliver their assigned programs.
• Attend cruise ship calls to coordinate shore excursion operations, managing guides, coaches, and suppliers to guarantee high-quality service delivery.
• Ensure all booked services are delivered in compliance with contractual agreements.
• Maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external partners to support smooth operations.
• Identify opportunities for new products to enhance future itineraries.

Qualifications and Skills

• Preferably hold a tertiary qualification in tourism with a minimum of two years relevant experience.
• Good knowledge of Australian ports and cities.
• Experience in logistics or operations within the cruise or tourism sectors.
• Strong operational and administrative capabilities with attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform well under pressure.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends during peak seasons, and to travel interstate as required.
