Graduate Back End Java Developer

About the role

Youtap Limited is hiring a Graduate Back End Java Developer to support its team in building modern digital banking, payment, and loyalty products. The role sits within a company that delivers white-label digital banking and digital wallet solutions to financial institutions and corporate clients around the world.

This opportunity is aimed at a recent graduate who enjoys moving quickly, working in a busy environment, and using AI-enabled development tools to deliver reliable software efficiently. The engineering team expects AI to be part of the day-to-day workflow, from creating initial code and test cases to troubleshooting and reviewing code, so the focus stays on solving real customer and business problems.

You will collaborate with product managers, front-end developers, and architects to help shape user experiences for consumers and merchants across fintech and loyalty products.

Responsibilities

• Build and support the back-end systems for Youtap’s digital banking, digital payment, and digital wallet applications using Java and Spring Framework.
• Make AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, and Cursor a regular part of development work for rapid prototyping, boilerplate generation, test writing, and quick iteration.
• Create and deploy solutions on cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and cloud banking microservices.
• Work with both SQL and NoSQL storage technologies to support application data needs.
• Partner with the front-end team to enable smooth integration between Youtap products and third-party applications.
• Help ensure applications perform well and can scale effectively.
• Write and maintain unit tests and integration tests.
• Take part in code reviews and collaborate with teammates to diagnose and fix issues.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a similar discipline.
• Proven use of AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or ChatGPT as part of everyday work, with examples of what has been built and how quickly it was delivered.
• Experience using source control systems such as Bitbucket or Git.
• Working knowledge of relational databases, especially PostgreSQL.
• Exposure to cloud environments and container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of RESTful services and microservice architecture.
• Familiarity with testing frameworks.
• Knowledge of Flutter and React would be advantageous.
