Role Overview
The Global MQA position is responsible for driving quality assurance across ODM and EMS partners, especially in mass production environments. The role focuses on standardizing global quality processes, resolving manufacturing and customer-related quality issues, and supporting continuous improvement across overseas production sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess ODM and EMS partners through structured, recurring audits and guide corrective action to raise performance against requirements.
- Align and harmonize global procedures and workflows across sites.
- Define, apply, and improve inspection and testing methods for in-process goods, raw inputs, and finished units so they comply with internal, safety, quality, and regulatory expectations for distribution.
- Own quality matters for ODM products during mass production and drive fast, effective closure of quality incidents.
- Support new production transfers overseas and mass production ramp-up, while establishing and reviewing manufacturing quality KPIs to strengthen EMS improvement efforts globally.
- Work with ODM/EMS partners to resolve carrier audit findings, out-of-box inspection issues, and customer complaints as the end-to-end internal owner.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving EMS manufacturing quality controls.
- Serve as the point of coordination when disagreements arise among overseas sites, EMS partners, and ODMs.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering discipline is required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing, operations, or quality management.
- At least 5 years of experience in the smartphone industry.
- Strong understanding of supply-chain-related activities, with experience in at least three areas such as manufacturing, SMT, assembly, IE, testing, NPI, and quality; SMT background is an advantage.
- Solid knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and statistical methods, along with strong analytical and problem-solving capability; Green Belt or Black Belt certification is preferred.
- Exposure to digital AI is an added advantage.
- Ability to assess risk and make sound decisions in fast-changing environments.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, collaboration, and influencing skills.
- Fluency in spoken and written English is essential; Mandarin is preferred.
- The candidate should be dependable, accountable, honest, and transparent.
