General Worker - Passenger Car Cleaner

Key Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning tasks inside and outside passenger rail cars.
• Vacuum and wash carpets, wipe down tables and seating to maintain cleanliness.
• Sanitize washrooms, showers, kitchens, and windows thoroughly.
• Manage potable water reservoirs by draining and refilling as necessary.
• Drain wastewater tanks promptly and effectively.
• Undertake outdoor duties in a variety of weather conditions.

Requirements

• Completion of a High School Diploma.
• Possession of a valid driver's license.
• Background in hotel housekeeping, janitorial work, or building maintenance.
• Flexibility to work diverse shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical capability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• Mechanical aptitude is desirable.
• Strong commitment to quality, productivity, and efficiency.

Work Schedule and Location

• This is a permanent part-time position averaging 40 hours per week.
• Work hours vary and include day, evening, night shifts as well as weekends and holidays.
• Opportunities for overtime work available.
• Positions located at Vancouver Maintenance Center or Mission Maintenance Centre.

Compensation and Benefits

• An hourly wage of $34.36.
• Additional shift premiums: $1.50/hour for evening shifts and $2.00/hour for night shifts.
• Comprehensive medical and dental benefits along with a pension plan.
• Travel pass granted following one year of service.
• Provision of uniforms and necessary equipment (boots, safety glasses, helmets, gloves).
• Access to free parking, locker rooms, showers, and cafeteria.
• Five personal days and up to ten sick days annually.
