Position Overview

Following the current General Manager's retirement, Rapid Group seeks an experienced and commercially savvy General Manager to lead from its Penrith, Western Sydney headquarters. This role offers a chance to join a financially strong organization with a solid market presence and a clear growth plan.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all operational aspects of the cooperative.
• Establish and nurture strong relationships with members throughout Australia and New Zealand.
• Enhance and grow strategic partnerships with suppliers.
• Drive expansion of the Key Account Management Program.
• Implement commercial strategies to boost member value and financial outcomes.
• Manage budgeting, financial oversight, and reporting to the Board.
• Promote operational excellence, ongoing improvements, and optimized business systems.
• Cultivate a collaborative, accountable, and member-centric organizational culture.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a seasoned commercial leader with a balance of sound judgment and hands-on leadership. They should demonstrate:

• Experience in senior leadership roles such as General Manager, COO, Commercial Manager, or CEO.
• Robust commercial and financial management skills.
• Proven success in negotiating agreements and forming strategic partnerships.
• Excellent stakeholder relationship and engagement abilities.
• Track record in driving business improvements and managing operational change.
• Familiarity with sectors such as wholesale distribution, industrial products, FMCG, or facilities management.
• Advantageous experience within cooperatives, buying groups, franchises, or member-based organizations.
• Knowledge of business systems and ERP platforms is highly valued.
