Role Summary

The General Manager, Airport Operations role is a newly created leadership position responsible for overseeing large and complex airport services. The role focuses on driving operational excellence, financial performance, customer satisfaction, safety compliance, workforce leadership, and developing future leaders within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership across several airport service contracts and operational functions.

  • Partner with HR, Labor Relations, and Finance to maintain positive labor relations in a unionized environment.
  • Lead and support change management initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness and alignment with organizational goals.

Candidate Profile

  • Extensive experience managing large, complex operational environments, ideally in Facilities Services.
  • Background in airport services, transportation, logistics, facilities management, hospitality, or related service industries.
  • Strong financial and business skills related to budgeting, workforce and labor management, and operational performance.
  • Experience managing both unionized and non-unionized staff teams.
  • Proven track record in developing leadership and building effective teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder relationship and customer service skills.
  • Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills suited to dynamic environments with shifting priorities.
  • Experience leading organizational change and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Operations Management, Aviation Management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to secure and maintain required airport security clearances including Transportation Security Clearance (TSC) and Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC).
