Role Overview

The General Assistant (Cleaner) plays an essential part in maintaining the gym's cleanliness and presentation, covering floors, changing areas, equipment, and communal spaces to ensure a safe and welcoming atmosphere for all members. This role involves working 20 hours per week and suits individuals who take pride in their work, possess excellent attention to detail, and thrive in a team committed to high standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean all areas within the gym including fitness zones, studios, changing rooms, showers, and communal spaces.
• Sanitize gym equipment, frequently touched surfaces, and maintain an impeccable presentation.
• Carry out scheduled cleaning tasks and perform daily compliance checks.
• Dispose of waste properly by emptying bins and managing waste procedures.
• Track the inventory of cleaning supplies and request replenishments when necessary.
• Promptly report any maintenance, health, or safety issues encountered.
• Assist the broader club team in fostering an excellent member experience.
• Consistently uphold cleanliness, safety, and presentation standards at all times.

Qualifications and Skills

• Excellent attention to detail and a reliable work ethic.
• Organized, self-motivated, and capable of working independently.
• Positive attitude with strong time management and teamwork capabilities.
• Flexible availability including willingness to work evenings and weekends.
• Previous experience in cleaning, housekeeping, or facilities management is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Understanding of hygiene procedures, cleaning standards, and safe chemical use is preferred.
• Experience within leisure, hospitality, retail, or commercial sectors is a plus.
